In developing countries like Nigeria and India where women often in rural areas and villages have accesible medical faculities, vaginal fistulas are more common. statistics show that no fewer than 12,000 women develop VVF every year in Nigeria especially in areas like Niger state. Most females affected are usually illiterate, financially challenged young girls and women who live in places which are not motorable or lack good medical facilities.
